Sony has unveiled it's new ultra-slim Vaio X Series notebook, which is described by Sony as "a perfectly balanced package for style-aware business travelers". The company claims as it is the world's lightest laptop that in-cased in durable, lightweight carbon-fiber chassis.

The models in the X series measure no more than 13.9mm in depth at any point across the chassis. However, the quoted weight of 655g applies to a specific model fitted with an S battery, no integrated HSDPA modem and a 64GB SSD, available exclusively from Sony's web site. But even with a standard battery, the weight is still just 780g,

“It’s one thing to make a notebook thin but when you consider the fact that the X Series also boasts industry-leading battery life and wireless WAN- you now have a game changer- altering the way people use and think about their PC,” said Mike Abary, senior vice president for VAIO business group at Sony.

Sony VAIO X Series integrates wireless 3G Mobile Broadband technology (integrated Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband), Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Bluetooth wireless technologies to ensure you are always be connected.
